Flagging a Prescription as PRN

The Custom MAR allows you to customize how the report prints, including customizations that are specific to PRN prescriptions. In order to take advantage of PRN customization on the Custom MAR, you must ensure the PRN checkbox is selected for all PRN prescriptions.

To flag the PRN checkbox for a prescription, do the following:

1. Open the incomplete prescription in RX Detail.
2. Select the Extended tab.
3. Select the PRN checkbox.
4. Continue filling the prescription, as per normal process.

Note: If you include the ‘PRN’ code in your SIG, the PRN checkbox is automatically checked in the Extended tab of the prescription. For example, the SIG will need to be entered as: ‘T 1 TAB HS PRN’.
