Refilling a Prescription
When you refill a prescription, the refill is assigned a new Rx#. Refills use the same authorization number as the original prescription unless you change the quantity authorized (QA). If the QA is changed, the prescription is treated as a new prescription and a new authorization number is assigned.
You can refill a prescription that does not have any remaining refills by creating a pre-authorized or unauthorized prescription. You cannot refill prescriptions that have not been filled yet (Incomplete or Pending), transferred prescriptions, or medications you have manually added to a patient's profile.
Note: You can check a prescription's audit history to view past refills of the prescription.

- Open the Patient Folder.
- Press the Profile tab.
- Highlight one or more prescriptions on the Profile.
Note: Note You cannot refill medications that have been manually added to the patient's profile (status DUR).
