Filling OTCs in Blister Packs for Retail Patients

In PharmaClik Rx the House Charge plan HK is named No Charge OTC Blister Packaging. Pricing Rules have been set up to remove the Cost, Markup and Fee from prescriptions submitted to HK.

House Charge K must be used to create a prescription record for OTC medications that the patient has purchased, but the pharmacy dispensed in blister packaging. Use the processing described below to ensure these prescriptions are correctly reflected on gross profit reports.

Step 1: Configure Patient for No Charge OTC Blister/Dosett Packaging

  • The HK plan must be added to the Patient Folder for all patients that receive No Charge OTC Blister Packaging services.

Step 2 : Process Prescriptions for No Charge OTC Blister/Dosett Packaging

  • No Charge OTC Blister Packaging assumes the patient has purchased the medication in advance. When filling HK prescriptions, the prescription must be flagged as ‘Fee for Service’ to ensure Gross Profit margins and Inventory are not affected. Follow the steps below to fill a new prescription for an OTC medication that will be dispensed in a blister package.
