Selecting French for Prescription Labels and Counselling Leaflets

French-speaking patients can easily be provided with French counselling leaflets and prescription labels with French instructions. To ensure the patient’s counselling leaflets and labels always print in French, set the patient’s language preferences in the Patient folder.

To set a patient's language preferences, do the following:

  1. Press the Patient button.
  2. Search for and select the patient.
  3. Press the Preferences tab. The language fields are located in the lower left corner.
  4. For French prescription labels, choose French from the Label Language dropdown list.
  5. For French counselling leaflets, choose French from the Leaflet Language dropdown list.
  6. Press the Save button.

Previewing the French prescription label from Rx Detail

Once a patient’s Label Language preference is set to French, all of the patient’s future prescriptions will print in French. The same rule applies to leaflets, once the patient’s Leaflet Language preference is set to French.

The label preview in the Rx Detail Extended tab displays the translated French instructions that will print on the patient’s vial copy. Before filling a prescription for a French patient, preview the label in the Extended tab to ensure all codes are translated into the appropriate text. Use this opportunity to make any corrections to the instructions before printing the label set.

Note: Only default PharmaClik Rx SIG codes translate into French. To print your custom SIG codes in French, add them to the List Maintenance SIG Code list with a French translation. Press here to learn how to customize SIG codes.

Changing an existing prescription to French

5. Press the OK button once all changes are complete.

To change the language for a leaflet, do the following
